Victoria turned to face Yiernoshi.
"Oh, what's this? I came to pick up an agent of CEDEF, only to find you guys...except...have you shrunk? Maybe...an illusion?"
Yes, definitely Victoria.
Yiernoshi tried to explain.
"You see, we were hit by the Ten Year Pencilcase..."
Victoria smiled.
"I see. So you're from the past, eh?"
She stretched.
"Anyway, we should get going. Having these guys as our enemies is no laughing matter."
She slid her sword into the sheath strapped to her back. To anyone looking at it at this point in time, it looked just like a golf club.
A sword disguised in a golf club. So cool, and
so Victoria.
-----
They pushed their way through the undergrowth. Victoria was happily talking to Yiernoshi and Christine about the amazing feats of their future selves, when Kah Yunn interrupted.
"Shouldn't we run? It will take until morning if we walk."
Victoria shook her head.
"Oh right! I didn't tell you. The information you had on the base's location was false. We've actually arrived."
She reached into the pocket of her black suit, and removed a liliac box. She pushed a ring on her finger into the indentation on the side of the box. It opened with a soft
click.
A golf ball, engulfed in purple flames and bearing a pair of wings, flew out.
It circled around the small group.
"Eh? A flying golf ball?"
"It's defensive camouflage. Don't look away."
Suddenly, a door shimmered into existence where a huge boulder used to be.
"This way. We're going down."
Victoria led the way in.
"Cool! The base is underground?"
"Yep. There are six entrances in total."
Victoria flicked a light switch.
Yiernoshi gasped.
"Wow! You mean the Carbonara built this?"
Victoria laughed.
"Wanna hear something sweet? You're the one who built this."
"Re...really?"
"Yep, when you get a little older."
Victoria pushed a door open.
"You're late."
Yiernoshi blinked at the familiar voice.
Sitting on an armchair was a very familiar small figure.
Sam.
-----
After the initial reunion ended, in which Sam kicked Yiernoshi's head and left a huge lump there, Sam settled down in the armchair again.
"Oh yeah, Sam, we can't seem to get back to the past!"
"I know. Also, it turns out that we were sent 9 years 10 months into the future. Why this happened, not even I know."
"Also, all Carbonara associates all over the world are being attacked. Even here, in Tutipore, the Carbonara Hunt has made its mark."
"Carbonara hunt?!"
"Yes. Our enemy, the Irritato Tomato, aims to eliminate every single one of the Carbonara."
"But...but..."
"Do not worry. We are not without hope. Victoria, the family's Guardians have not been confirmed as dead, correct?"
"Yes."
"Then, there is only one thing that you can do. Assemble the six scattered Guardians!"
-----
Meanwhile, in Italy..."Lord Mistan, we have received a report from the Melone base in Tutipore that Mr Mitong has reached the base and initiated contact."
"Oh?"
The figure at the window turned. Smoothed out a crinkle in her heavy white jacket.
"That was fast, Kim-kim."
-----
The next day, Yiernoshi, Christine, Sam, and Victoria were sitting at the kitchen table. Kah Yunn was resting in her room, tired out from her long journey.
"Did you two sleep well?"
Yiernoshi and Christine nodded.
"Good. In that case, you can begin to gather the Guardians. Firstly, we need someone who is already ready to fight, which probably means
that person..."
"What person?"
"Carbonara Fourteenth's strongest Guardian, Claire."
-----
Victoria, Christine, and Yiernoshi made their way to the surface, via Exit 5, which led to an abandoned warehouse.
Along the way, Victoria explained to them about the Carbonara Rings.
Apparently, they had been smashed, and thrown away, upon orders of future Yiernoshi.
"But...but..."
Before she could ask her wuestion, however, the area was racked with an explosion. Someone was flung towards them, covered in minor burns.
It was Jeanine. The Jeanine from the past.
"Not dead yet?"
Two figures in heavy black jackets emerged from the rubble. The taller one had very short - almost boyish - hair and glasses. The slightly shorter one sported a ponytail, and wielded a green staff alight with blue flames.
"Die, pest."
