Jeanine and Victoria were walking back together after training.
-----
Unknown to them, there were in fact four figures clad in black following them from rooftop to rooftop.
They landed in a street.
"It's this point. They shouldn't have gone too far. Split up and look for them. We, the Cheddocheezaria Hini Cloud unit, will find and eliminate the ring wielder."
Seet, sitting on a wall, smiled.
"As expected, the speed of your work is the best in the Cheddocheezaria, Hini."
"Mmm. Aren't you supposed to be looking for the Guardian of Thunder?"
"Nah, I'll do it at my own pace. After all, according to Chip's report, the enemy is full of amateurs. I'll just watch from the sidelines for now."
At this moment, Hini's earpiece-set crackled.
"Captain Hini, this is 01. To the west, I see two girls."
"This is 02. I have nothing to report."
"Captain, this is 03 reporting. There is nobody around."
Hini nodded.
"Good. That means that one of those two holds the Ring of Cloud. 01, go ahead and eliminate them. 02 and 03, follow him and beat them to pulp."
-----
Sam jumped off the chair at the dinner table.
"Yiernoshi, let's go."
"What for? We already finished training for today!"
"We've got some unexpected guests. Mun's gone to get the others. Let's go."
"Wha?!"
-----
Yiernoshi skidded to a halt in a deserted street.
Two figures were running towards her.
"Victoria! Jeanine!"
"Yiernoshi!"
"Stay away!"
"Huh?"
Kaboom. A grenade was lobbed towards the trio, from a figure on a rooftop. Unfortunately, while struggling to get out of the grenade's range, they failed to notice what Yiernoshi did.
There was a man clutching a knife behind them.
"Aah! Victoria, Jeanine, watch out for that guy behind you!"
Before either of them could react, the man was thrown off his feet.
Standing among the smoke was...
...Christine.
'Carbonara's Guardian of the Storm, Christine, is here!"
Yiernoshi sighed with relief.
Sam shook her head.
"Don't get relieved yet."
Above them, on the rooftops, another figure leapt up, clutching a gun.
"This is 02. Target located. I'll attack."
Before he could do so, Jeanine's handbags had activated, zapping him unconscious.
Yet another black-clad figure arrived.
"This is 03. 02's been...GYAAAH!"
Said person was slammed into a building, Victoria's golf ball leaving a burn mark on his jacket.
"Everyone!"
Sam smiled.
"Looks like Mun made it just in time."
-----
"Hey guys!"
"Fourteenth!"
"Hi, Yiernoshi!"
Christine grinned.
"They're much weaker than I thought. That was an easy victory!"
Sam shook her head.
"Those are just the underlings of the Cheddocheezaria. The really scary ones are on their way here now."
A tall, lanky figure landed neatly on a pile of debris.
"So you guys did that."
Her eyes swept over the stunned teenagers.
"My opponent who wields the Ring of Cloud is...the kid with the club."
She reached into her pocket.
"If you interfere, I'll kill you all."
"Hey! Wait up, Hini!"
Five other figures in leather jackets appeared next to Hini.
"Don't hunt them all on your own."
"After all, there are other ring wielders here, y'know."
Suddenly, Yiernoshi heard a rather familiar voice. One she'd hoped never to hear again.
"OOOOI! How dare you trick me, you piece of trash!"
Leather jacket, black shirt, black shorts, and boots, holding the dreaded bat.
It was Chip.
She grinned.
"Which of you here wields the Ring of Sun?"
Se Ern stepped forward.
"Me."
Chip smirked.
"5 seconds! I'll slice you up in 5 seconds!"
"Move."
Someone new was making her way through the mass of black.
Yiernoshi gasped.
Standing before her was a girl with glasses. She had a white dress shirt under her leather jacket, and wore a (fake) fox-fur accessory on her collar.
Sam groaned.
"Don."
Don glared at Yiernoshi.
"Eep!"
"Yiernoshi Lai...die."
She raised a hand to her spectacles.
"Stop!"
Everyone turned towards the direction of the voice.
"Eh?"
